Student Scholarship

For ETAPS 2025 two types of scholarships are available. The first is a registration fee waiver, i.e., the scholarship means a free registration. Further, we also of a number of travel grants for the amount of 1100 CAD to support travel and accommodation in Hamilton. Preference will be given to students:

• from countries where access to travel funds is difficult, and
• being an author or a co-author of a paper at one of the four ETAPS main conferences.

The deadline for application is February 22, 2025. Applicants are required to submit a short application (max. 1 page) electronically as an ASCII text file. The application should contain the following information:

• whether the application is for the registration fee waiver and/or the travel grant,
• your name, affiliation, and e-mail address,
• the name and e-mail address of your supervisor,
• in the case you have a paper accepted to an ETAPS main conference, its title, the conference at which this paper will be presented, and whether you will be presenting the paper yourself or not,
• a short explanation of the reason(s) why funding is required, indicating whether your university is providing any funding for your trip and to what extent, and any specific information useful for assessing your case,
• indication whether you want to serve as a student volunteer.

Please be considerate, the stipends are not meant to simply improve the budget situation of the students’ supervisors, but to enable everyone to come to ETAPS when their participation is endangered by financial inequalities.

If your application for a registration fee waiver is accepted, you will receive a promotion code to register free of charge for ETAPS. If your application is rejected, you will be able to register at the early-deadline rate until the late deadline. If your application for a travel grant is accepted, you will be paid via bank transfer after the conference.
